This was one of my favorite shoots yet. It was a crazy and fast-paced production. We had several units working at the same time, capture food beauty shots, inserts, and more. It's always fun to work with Director Doug Magallon. He's been making spots since the 80's, and I've learned a lot from him over the last couple of years. He's hands down the fastest director I've worked with. Like most of the spots I've done with him, this spot required the crew lighting the next setup while we were shooting another. It takes a lot of communication and planning ahead. Generally we walk through the setups in the morning and at lunch. I then walk through with my gaffer to design the lighting to accommodate the planned camera angles. We do this throughout the day so the rest of the crew can get to work lighting the set for me to tweak when I move to the next setup. I love shooting this way. It keeps me constantly moving and thinking, and there's never a dull moment. I don't think Doug would have it any other way.
